Responsibilities:
The job requires operation of various tractors and agricultural equipment to prepare ground; work site activities; prepare and maintain land; plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, cultivate, grow, harvest and transport crops to the elevator or storage location. Equipment to be operated, but not limited to, tractors with various implements, discs, field cultivators, mini-loaders, grain carts, self-propelled and tractor-mounted sprayers, combines, cotton pickers, cotton round balers, seeders, rollers, harrows, mowers, excavators, graders, excavators, lime spreaders, ATV/UTV/side by side/four-wheel vehicles, Farmall with loader, articulated tractors, pickups, various trailers and various John Deere and CaseIH transmissions. Farm trucks not subject to CDL must be loaded with agricultural product and driven to the farm and storage facilities. Employees will participate in irrigation activities, including laying pipe, walking irrigation pipe to pull it through set spans, setting up and operating irrigation equipment, cleaning and maintaining irrigation ditches, operating well motors, operating and maintaining pivot supports, draining excess water from fields, monitoring fields to check and maintain proper crop water supply; building, constructing and maintaining levees; and setting and removing slide gates and installing drainage openings. Manual duties include, but are not limited to, loading seed into seeders; properly mixing chemicals; loading chemicals into sprayers; changing combine cutting heads; cultivating fields and using hand tools to remove undesirable varieties, debris and other objects from fields; performing general maintenance, repair and/or field cleanup, irrigation systems, storage sheds, pivot supports, buildings, gates, barns, farm headquarters and all agricultural equipment; ensuring organization and proper maintenance of work areas; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain agricultural vehicles, machines and specialized farm and agricultural equipment; and performing routine equipment maintenance. There are multiple typical days and employees may be required to frequently rotate duties and/or locations and perform various general functions. Daily duties may change depending on the crop, weather and field conditions. Employer reserves the right to increase wages or provide bonuses based on tenure, productivity or other factors at the employer's sole discretion.
The employer is looking for versatile workers who can operate agricultural machinery as well as perform other farm tasks.
The employer reimburses (for ticket and consular fee) after the candidate's arrival in the USA.
