The flow of petroleum products, passing through PULSOIL-CT, enters the zone of “stall” cavitation. The pulse repetition rate is determined by the geometric parameters of PULSOIL-CT and is in the range from 500 to 25,000 Hz. The entire oil flow passes through a highly efficient cavitation zone. When cavitation bubbles collapse in a very short time (less than 1 μs), the temperature reaches several thousand degrees Celsius and a pressure of more than 1000 atm develops. Thus, the conditions for oil processing indicated above are created directly in the flow. Due to the high stability of operating frequencies, high homogeneity of the finished product is achieved and the yield of light petroleum products increases to 3-5%. It should be noted that this technology allows not to dehydrate crude oil, which contains up to 20% water, but, by exposing it to ultrasonic cavitation, to involve this water in a series of chemical reactions leading to the formation of alcohols, ethers and esters, while increasing the calorific properties of the fuel and reducing its cost.
